The beautiful fall weather has enabled many area farmers to wrap up their fall harvest. Also, good luck to all of our deer hunters, hopefully some nice bucks will be taken this season.

I would first like to express my sympathy to the families of Sara Wood and Jean Green, may both of these community members rest in peace. I would like to thank the following knights who prayed the rosary for Jean: Jim Swartz, Bob Swartz, Leonard Goniewicha, John Howison, Gary Polega, Bob Wruble, Dennis Stacer, Paul Ginther, Darryl Connell, Bob Sopczynski, Marcelino Moreno, and Father Bill.

Also, our annual Christmas Party is Saturday, December 4th in the OLLH basement. ALL members and their families are invited. There is NO CHARGE. Social hour starts after the parade, around 6:00pm. Dinner will be served at 7:00pm. Woman’s Life has graciously volunteered again this year to cater this event. Santa will arrive at 8:00pm. If you have a gift for your child, please wrap it, put their name on it, and leave it up in the Usher’s room (back of church) before you come down to the party. In addition, Ubly’s Corporate Communion and breakfast will be Sunday, November 21st. The mass will be 9:00am at St. John’s; breakfast will follow at the Parish Center. Cost is $6.50 a person. Please let me know if you are planning on attending, my number is (989)315-1038. A good turn-out from our Brother Knights is always nice to see!

Father Bill would also like the help from the Knights in purchasing a chasuble to wear at funeral masses. The cost would be $500 and we will be discussing this at our monthly meeting.

The Council City-Wide Spelling Bee will be November 23rd at 7:00pm in the Harbor Beach School Cafetorium. Feel free to attend and see the wonderful spellers that our town has!
