Grand Knight Knotes

BROTHERS
These Knotes had to be done early this month, so at this writing our Superbowl Sunday Breakfast has yet to take place. I’m rather confident it was a huge success, as the community has come to embrace it over the years. Thank-You Brother Knights, and ALL who helped on one of our most important Fundraisers. We all know how much time, talent, and effort goes into this.
The District Free-Throw is Superbowl Sunday(02/07) at the HB High School Gym. Come out and support our boys & girls and have some fun!
The Texas Hold’Em Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, February 20th @ Smalley’s. Registration is at 5:00PM, Play begins at 6:00PM. $10 at the door & $40 to play. Dean Kozfkay(479-9760) has the details.
The Ruth Council is having their Corporate Communion on Sunday, February 28th at St. Peter & Paul @ the 8:00AM Mass. Breakfast will follow in the KC Hall. Tickets are $6.00. They have a great menu…. Curly Messing tells me their HOMEMADE SAUSAGE can’t be beat!
Our Council will be hosting one of the 2010 Lenten Soup Suppers. The Suppers fall on Wednesday evenings & begin @ 6:00PM. The dates are: 2/24, 03/03 ,03/10, & 03/17. The Tootsie Roll Drive is Palm Sunday week-end, March 26, 27, & 28. If you know what shift you would like to work, please call Emmett Trudeau(315-4073) and let him know. This helps out more than you think!
Our Annual Convention will be convened at the Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island on May 27,28, & 29. The Convention Delegates and Alternates will be elected at our February Meeting. If interested, please attend the meeting or if you can’t please let me know in order to be considered. As in the past, our council will finance the trip.
To clear up some discussion we had at our January meeting about the annual dues:
$24 is the minimum dues to remain a member (this hasn’t changed since our council began back in December, 1994.) The council’s obligation to Supreme is $3 per member for Holy Cross, and $2 per member for Culture of Life (new for this year) Optional is Take 5 Michigan Charities, and Father McGivney Chair. Again, when sending in your dues, please let Carl know if you are a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Degree member, so that we may update our Roster.
There will be a 4th Degree in April, 2010. If anyone is interested, please contact Don Bredow or our District Deputy, Dale Gilbert. You must have completed the 1st 2nd & 3rd Degree for eligibility.
Fraternally,
John Howison
